Pay attention to the important part, the "And he just can't forget about him."

I always thought they meant Mitsuba was like Yako, since his rumor changed too. But when I thought about it longer, it makes more sense Hanako means Kou is kinda like Yako, because he "just can't forget about him"-

Kou is "a lot like Yako" because he can't forget about Mitsuba. Just like Yako can't forget about Misaki.

This tiny scene proves it. Yako seem to have grown a soft spot for Kou after realizing he is indeed, a lot like her.
It even surprises Hanako, which is why he goes "you like that?"

And why is this Mitsukou? we know Yako used to like Misaki, it was an innocent crush, but a crush nonetheless. And Kou is "a lot like her"

Ok so I might be the first to point this out but, I'll just say it. Nene dying is definitely more important than Mitsuba wanting to be a human. Her situation has a deadline, Mitsuba's doesn't.
And yet, Kou puts him in the same level as Nene. The s a m e importance as Nene.

Because he cares about him as much as he does for Nene (maybe even more but we'll get to that in a sec)
