I voted NDP last provincial election despite over a decade supporting the BCLiberals, volunteering for them etc.
The reason was under Christy Clark they were incompetent managers at best and facilitators of financial crimes. The BCLiberals had become awful and deserved the 🥾
We’ve had several years under @jjhorgan now. His government has been generally ethical and the NDP have been decent managers.
I have criticisms. Still, all things considered in my view they absolutely deserve my vote. A few people have been key.
I don’t know @jjhorgan - never met him.
He made clear to his ministers, as I recall, that they better shift gears right fast to being managers. He was on to something.
Glen Clark and Christy Clark failed miserably as managers. @adriandix was a great critic. Could he manage?
Recognizing the need to manage and making the NDP step up to do the job of managing was @jjhorgan’s first very smart move. Gordon Campbell did this too and it was effective. Appointing the very hard-working @carolejames finance minister was an easy decision because she that good.
A tough job was given @Dave_Eby, particularly the @icbc file. ICBC is the Kobayashi Maru of government files. I disagree with many decisions made on that file but keeping it operating is a win itself.
A low bar.
On the justice file he has done very well overall.
Our courts are operating as they should all things considered despite a pandemic. There is some improvement in the admin role of RoadSafetyBC (my wheelhouse). There has been little by way of offensive legislation. But there has been some.
Eby is a decent fellow doing a good job.
On the “good management” theme we have @mikefarnworthbc who was both effective in opposition and is an excellent cabinet minister. I’ve talked to him from time to time and I find him balanced, thoughtful and he’s clearly hard working. He’s a skilled politician and very balanced.
As for @adriandix, I was unsure how he would do with such an important portfolio. Strong ideological views and management skills rarely run together. A few things are now clear: he’s hard-working, he’s focused on completing tasks, he’s pragmatic, he knows his stuff.
I am thankful, dealing with a pandemic, that @adriandix has been our health minister. A skilled and sturdy hand on the rudder. I really appreciate him.

Now, unlike the 90s the NDP has attracted very balanced, skilled candidates and some star power
Best example may be @BowinnMa who is engaged in the community, totally balanced, brilliant and approaches politics with a professional background that gives her insight few might have. Again, an example of a good manager. We’re lucky to have such people in government.
I trust @jjhorgan. Seems like an honest guy.
On the bad news days he put himself out front. Never took the spotlight from anyone on a good news day.
The buck does actually stop with him. It’s a good sign.

So I say the NDP earned my vote this time.
The NDP is best choice for B.C.
