I had a convo with a farmer recently who openly admitted that;
-he didn’t like working for other people, so he wanted to farm
-he didn’t have the money, but his wife worked in town
-so they “saved all their money” (her money) for 15 years while she raised the kids... https://twitter.com/Casein_Micelles/status/1319675216046424064
...and he got to spend his time making $0 farming.
-then “they” (she) bought a farm so he wouldn’t have to work for anyone
-when I described it this way, he said, “that’s what everybody’s wife did.”
-“And don’t worry, when she helps milk, I give her 5% of the milk check”
So if you think “small family farms” are just extracting from the land... nah. Any resources available, human, plant, animal, water, they’ll take and feel entitled to do so. Because, you know, farming is noble or some shit.

Misogyny.
