THREAD from a dear friend who is a Public School teacher in Iowa (please share): My school is becoming a hot spot and I'm worried. Several teachers diagnosed this week, and they won’t tell us when students have it. A student just returned who was gone for 2 weeks...
...because she had it and said it was BAD for her. We also aren't told when a staff member has it - we just know because we talk to each other. We aren’t told when we’ve been in contact with ANY positive case unless...
... we’ve been around them for more than 14 minutes, without a mask and within 6 feet, but obviously no one is watching to monitor or know this info. AND we can’t organize to protect ourselves because Iowa is a right to work state.
This story feels like something out of Dr. Strangelove. It drives home we have #NoNationalStrategy & NOT ENOUGH RESOURCES for what schools are being asked to do. (Not to mention how profoundly ALL American Workers need the right to organize!)
