thread of my thoughts after first listen for every song (not including interludes/outro) on "Stream of Thoughts, Vol 3: Cane and Able" by Black Thought. What do you rate this album?
State Prisoner:
Holy sheesh this song is literally just three minutes of BT spitting bars. His lyricism fr shines on this song “I’m the honorable Pensée Noir, my nom de guerre, I’m the czar, the Pekeing-to-Paris, is my car” (had to genius that had no idea wtf he was saying)

Good morning:
Swizz delivers very stellar production, and Pusha’s verse steals is also heat. “What’s worse, the gift or the curse? The only way to celebrate a death is with a birth” Killer Mike also goes hardddd. Perfect beat for these four, all of them give their best.

Magnificent:
This song is meh. It’s three verses and no chorus over a beat that’s nothing special. BT still spits. The whole album is super Christian oriented, with Lucifer being mentioned in almost every song so far. Nothing wrong with that at all, just something I noticed

Quiet Trip:
Love this beat, has a little West Coast influence imo. Portugal the Man and the Last Artful Dodgr are super calming, and give a really nice chorus breaking up the BT verses. turning into a BT fan, he switches up flows here and keeps my attention as it drifts ong

Nature of the Beast:
This song is kinda like an attempt at BT to make a Sundress -esque song. He kinda sounds like Kid Cudi here too lmao. Pretty dope, not amazing, but a very chill, good vibes song that I will come back to listen to no doubt.

We Could Be Good (United):
With an intro of a couple fighting, this song is BT talking to his significant other basically just saying 'we can be gooooooood ;)' “I’m like Johann Sebastian, the Zohan of fashion,” is an all time line, I fux with this song a decent amount.

Steak Um:
Well the Dave Chappelle intro is so sick. The entire song has an Fuck youu attitude, and normally I love that type of Q but his verse is average at best. BT still shows some powerful lyricism, so its a decent song.

Thought Vs. Everybody:
I take this song as BT giving his plain and simple thoughts on the state of the world. He’s spitting some fire politically conscious, justice for all bars. “Latrophobia, that's a fear of the healer, Kaepernick is an activist, y'all in fear of the kneeler”

Fuel:
This song is BT questioning who he is. He reminisces on burning bridges, saying its almost as if the lord doesn’t trust him, and while he may be set up for failure, there’s nothing in his way from stopping his success. Great way to lead into the outro and finish the album

If you made it all the way to the end of the thread thank you! I honestly really liked this album even though I've never been a big Black Thought guy. I'd give it a respectable 7.2/10. What do you think of the album?
