Okay NJ voters, I know a *LOT* of us are voting by mail this year!

If you intend to go in-person Nov. 3, have you made your #VotingPlan yet?

- Are you sure of your polling place? Some are changed this yr. You should have gotten this by mail.
- What's your plan to get there?
Know what to expect. Machines this year are *only* for voters who cannot complete a paper ballot for reasons of disability. (I don't know how the ADA process works honestly in NJ- if someone does, feel free to jump in!)

Otherwise you'll be voting on a PAPER PROVISIONAL BALLOT.
A lot of people don't like proviaional ballots. They don't "feel" real. They worry they won't be counted.

Bc NJ sent (or tried to) ballots to everyone they HAVE to do this. They cross check who submits a in person to make sure they didn't also mail one! It's to prevent fraud.
Filling out provisional is a LOT like if you had done one by mail just:
- with one less envelope!
- you hand it over right there, no worries about mail
- poll workers can assist with Qs about process or replace ballot if you mess it up.
"Wait, I won't get to do the machine? That's the fun! I'll just do the mail-in one"

You still have time. Four ways to get that back. Whichever option you choose, it needs to be out of your hands - *postmarked* or dropped off - by 8pm Nov. 3, or it turns into a pumpkin.

Let's talk how you'll GET to the polls! 40% of residents here in #JerseyCity don't have cars.

Check your polling place and GOOGLE MAP THAT. Are you walking? Scootering? Biking? Ride from a friend? Uber/Lyft? Bus?

Have a plan. Have a backup plan. Have a rain plan. #VotingPlan
Always skeptical about for-profit deals re Get Out the Vote but 50% discounts from:
- Uber: automatically applied when you request ride by using the polling finder.
- Lyft: Code 2020VOTE

APPLIES TO BIKE & SCOOTER RENTALS IN THEIR NETWORKS, where they have them.

If you're planning to vote in the evening hours, polls close 8pm.

GIVE YOURSELF TIME TO GET THERE. Uber/Lyft might have high demand. Buses might hit traffic.

You gotta be in line by 8pm to vote. Don't leave your house at 7:55 because Uber said 4 minute, PLEASE.
General rule: if you're in line by 8pm, you get to vote!

We haven't generally seen huge lines in NJ but you never know. If you're in line by 8 & they try to turn you away, give a call to this legal hotline: 866-OUR-VOTE
