"Just check the comps"

As a reseller, you'll hear that all the time 📢

What does it mean?

It's the single most important skill you can have as a flipper

- Reduce your amount of bad buys 🚫
- Scale your business quicker 📈
- Make more $

🧵How to Research a Flip : A Thread 🧵
1. The Basics

There are two main things you should focus on when checking comps

- Sale price
- How often the item has sold in the last 90 days

These two pieces of data will tell you how likely it is for you to sell that item too

Let's go through an example ‼️
2. Item Research

Let's say you just bought @CoachJoeHart PFP and are in your first store

You find a pack of 🔥 sports cards

1. Open the eBay app
2. Look for the camera icon in the top right
3. Scan the UPC in the box

(cont.)
Research cont.

4. In the results, filter by "Sold Items" in the top right
5. Look for # of results, as well as average sale price

You can plug your #'s in at https://finalfeecalc.com/  and see how much you can profit
3. What Do I Buy?

Typically my rules of thumb for buying something is :

- Multiple sales/day/week✅
- Profit ROI of >30% (after shipping/fees) ✅

ESPECIALLY if I can buy multiples, I'll buy 10 units or so to test

If they do well, rinse and repeat ♻️
4. Checking Used Items

The process is the same as it is for a new item

With one difference...

You'll need the model number/description instead

Just use the eBay search bar and input this combo

"Brand + Model Number"

I.E

"Wii RVL-001"
That's most of it ‼️
