Lost in all of the debate and ACB news is the fact that the Senate Judiciary Committee just passed through the nomination of Kathryn Mizelle to the full Senate.

Mizelle is in her early 30& #39;s and graduated from law school in 2012. She has an admittedly impressive resume for a young lawyer (USSC clerkships tend to do that), but that doesn& #39;t make her fit to be an Article III Judge.
For reference sake, she is now an associate with Jones Day, and appears to have been in that position for about a year. In a prior life, at a prior firm, we were often litigating as co-parties (on the same side) as young Jones Day attorneys.
The fact was, they were INCREDIBLY bright (as I& #39;m sure she is), but they didn& #39;t understand a damn thing about how to litigate. Because of that, they often leaned on us - including those with just as impressive of clerkships as Ms. Mizelle - because we had been "in the trenches"
This thread isn& #39;t designed to denigrate Ms. Mizelle. Honestly, though I& #39;m sure I disagree with her vehemently on Constitutional interpretation, she has an incredibly impressive resume. Just not one that warrants being a federal judge.
Her resume EARNED her that associate position at Jones Day, and that& #39;s an achievement. But I know that I have much more litigation and trial experience than Ms. Mizelle and I& #39;m not even remotely qualified to be an Article III Judge.
This isn& #39;t about her, it isn& #39;t about me. It& #39;s about the fact that the Administration and their boot-licking GOP cronies are willing to force through deeply unqualified judges just because those judges will tow the Federalist Society& #39;s line.
Until we get a Senate that is actually willing to take its duties in judicial confirmation seriously - especially on the Right - we& #39;re going to have a deeply flawed federal bench. This is a threat not only to the legal profession, but to this nation. Please, please, PLEASE vote
