I'm so sick and tired and done with every single epic story inevitably and without fail ending in marriage, babies, and characters giving up their entire identity in order to raise a family. Just. Ugh. Can we have a single happy ending that does not amount to children? đź’€
As someone who doesn't want kids ever in my entire life, it feels like... mockery? Kids, kids, kids. The ultimate goal, the center of existence. Life's joy. Yet all I see is being tied down to and restricted by a screaming, wailing, defecating tiny human? No thank you.
It makes so many story endings seem completely and utterly unsatisfactory. Character fight for their freedom, eventually win the battle, only to settle down and opt out of that freedom?
ESPECIALLY when the characters are adventurers at heart, when they want nothing more than to see the world and not to be tied down to a single, uneventful spot. Suddenly they're happy to scrap their entire calling to have kids?
If the world saw this thread I'd probably be assassinated come midnight LMFAO
