Like, my neighbors in my building and I coordinated to patrol the basement because someone set a fire in the basement of an apartment a stone's throw away, in an area with a lot of mixed income and mixed race housing.

I sat at my window past midnight for a week keeping watch in my neighborhood. We have video of people switching out their licenses plates, or simply not having license plates at all, roving the cities. We have ample documentation.

One night, I listened for gunshots as friends held the line at a local Jamaican restaurant a few blocks from me against a white supremacist in a pick up that was circling them (no plates!) and occasionally leveling guns at them.

The city councillor for North livetweeted that black businesses were mysteriously going up in flames when the protests were nowhere near them.

We told you this shit was happening, and you refused to believe us because white supremacists have only ever been a spectre to you and never a real thing.

They are real; they were here; and they were fucking up our city while you pooh-pooh'd the idea on twitter.
