I love a song of ice and fire, but the game of thrones series has caused irreparable damage to the fantasy genre

Fantasy now is a very binary thing that is either for children, or just full of sex and violence so it can be "for grown ups"

Anything made for grown ups is a stupid concept because I remember being 14 and talking about got with my friends, the largest amount of call of duty players are 12 year olds. You physically can't make something popular without having children developing interest in it

But still the whole thing about fantasy for grown ups is so stupid cause it's just unnecessary gritty to prove how adult they are. "look!! We have sex!! Are we adults yet?"

It doesn't feel like adult media it feels like what a 13 year old thinks adult is
