EVERLASTING NORA is a beautiful #MG set in a real-life Manila cemetery shanty town by @cruzwrites. There are endless lenses into the #Filipino & #FilAm experience & are one way to help kids step into othersâ shoes & build empathy.

AMERICAN SON by Brian Ascalon Roley has been out for many years but still such a powerful, intense book around the #FilipinoAmerican immigrant experienceâthe story of 2 brothers & their corrosive relationship (my guess is if released today might be called #YA).
BLACKBIRD FLY was the 1st time I discovered @erinentrada (I remember buying it for all my nieces & nephews!) I adore all of Erin's rich but this is one of my faves abt a girl, Apple, who feels different from her classmates for being Filipino & learns to stay true to herself.

My family & I recently discovered the TIMELESS series by @ArmandBaltazarâwe picked it up bc the kid on the cover looked like my son! A lush, epic #MG action fantasy with stunning artwork by a #FilipinoAmerican artist & creator.
(SIDE NOTE @ArmandBaltazar if youâre reading: we donât know each other but my kids & I are big fans now! I used to work at Disney Animation & feel like we prob have friends in common?

JOURNEY FOR JUSTICE by Dr. Dawn B. Mabalon & Gayle Romasanta abt labor leader Larry Itliong's lifelong fight for a farmworkers union & the birth of one of the most significant American social movements of all time. A rich #NF #PB & important piece of American & #FilAm history.
All of the picture books being published by the incredible @SariSariStories are SO beautiful & fun. Many of them take Filipino myths + traditional Filipino stories & make them accessible for younger readers. My family & I love their books! 
PATRON SAINTS OF NOTHING is a gripping & gorgeous #YA around faith, family, & immigrant identity by the amazing @randyribay.
Look at this beautiful cover (recently revealed!) for WHEN LOLA VISITS, a #pb debut by @averyaugustine_! Iâm excited for its May 2021 release!
