@cafeconlibrosbk - intersectional feminist community space, bookstore, coffee shop. located in brooklyn, very sick.
@greenlightbklyn - a Brooklyn favorite for a reason! two locations (Prospect Lefferts Gardens and Fort Greene), lots of contemporary titles
@quimbysnyc1 - an offset of probably my favorite bookstore in Chicago, this Williamsburg revamp is right off the G/L and has tons of incredible selection of non-fiction and zines.
@bluestockings - COMPLETELY VOLUNTEER RUN, lower east side feminist bookstore and coffee shop, consider shopping there or donating some of your time!
@notreallytopos - Topos (owned by a dear friend of mine) is a great used bookstore in Ridgewood, lots of incredible contemporary titles as well as somewhat more esoteric finds and a sweet cafe
not on Twitter but head to insta to check out @ aeonbooks, great chinatown spot for rarer film, art, and spirituality books (I used to volunteer here and love it with all my heart)
will add more as I think of them but hopefully folks will rep their faves in the comments as well. moral of the story is fuck n*ncy bass and until the strand starts paying my friends a living wage they can kindly eat my ass like groceries xx
also let’s not even get me started on working conditions aka the time they had me working outside in bryant park with one tiny, barely functional heater between the months of november and february!! i worked 8 hour shifts in 15 degree weather!!
okay other equally lovely stores others have mentioned: @thelitbar @wordbookstores @bronxboundbooks @booksaremagicbk 🖤✨
