Programming note for later, never had this one before:
It is time:
Port Charlotte 10 by Bruichladdich in Islay.

Aged mostly in American Oak, finished in wine casks. Pours real pale.

Nose: Know what this smells like? A library book. That sounds weird but it smells like library book. Some fruity alcohol. It doesn't smell heavily peated.
First sip: Its a nice balance of sweetness and smoke. They call it heavily peated, and its there but it's very approachable.

Second Sip: Bunch of smokey citrus flavor, nice salt air brine as well.

It's not elegant like Caol Ila or Lagavulin 16, or whacky like Laphroaig.
It's a great dram, entirely its own thing. It sticks around for a long time as well.

The grain is in there as well. With some of really smokey whiskies they deliberately smoke the hell out of the maltiness. But the lingering flavor is toasted grain, not smoke.
There's so much to like here.

I'm pleased with the purchase. H/T @Bruichladdich

Cheers!
