okay here’s the thread on why (i’m not 100% sure) zayn named his album icarus falls.

so there is a myth called the flight of icarus (which is almost like z’s song the flight of the stars) and it is basically about Daedalus and his son Icarus being trapped on an island. Daedalus had the idea that they could fly to get out of there, so he told Icarus to gather up+

all the feathers he could find. Icarus collected a huge pile of feathers and gave them to Daedalus. Daedalus then melted some wax and made a skeleton in the shape of a bird’s wing. when he was done, Daedalus wanted to try them so he fastened them to his shoulders and felt+

himself being lifted upwards. in the morning when he was finally done, he fastened them to Icarus’ shoulders and taught him how to fly. he told him to watch the movement of birds, and how they soared and glided overhead. Icarus soon learned how to fly, and his father was proud.+

Daedalus did have to tell Icarus two certain rules tho. he couldn’t go too close the sun because the wax would melt and he would fall, and he couldn’t go too close to the water because the fog and spray would clog the wings. when they were flying, Icarus disobeyed his father and+

flew way too close to the sun. the wax ended up melting which resulted in Icarus falling down to the water to his death. i think zayn named his album icarus falls because it’s like him explaining his struggle in being in the band and dealing with anxiety.+

it was like him describe his “escape” from the band, but wasn’t really out there anymore because everything was too much for him.
