I am NOT a Tory however I do not think it is the government’s responsibility to feed children. If you choose have them feed them yourself. If the government starts paying to feed people’s children what responsibilities does the parent have
Ps- ALL parents are entitled to £80 per month from the government for their first child and a little less for their second etc... can’t that be used to buy food?
It is hard to fully explain myself via Twitter. Parents on exceptionally low incomes do get a fair bit of government support. I DO absolutely believe that the government should support those who’ve lost their jobs due to the virus or have a reduced income
I do not believe that the government should facilitate and support those who are in long term unemployment... why should people who’ve never worked a day in their life get their children’s meals paid for
It is the family who would ordinarily be working but for the virus that should be offered support and assistance. Employed self employed whatever if those people fall into hardship may they be supported
