"Understanding consciousness "

#1. Let me be very clear here, people generally take very different meaning of the the word "consciousness". So I hope (and I know) this thread will change your perception about consciousness.
#2. Let us start from the Big bang. When our creator started the process of making the universe (YUP, WE HAVE A CREATOR), the "big bang" happened. Through which energy and mass emitted at enormous speed. Our fate was decided in the first three minutes after the explosion.
#3. Through that exact energy and mass "we" were carved. Billions and billions of years forwarded, now, we are here in this exact moment. Living with our names, houses, money, people and all the other materialistic entitlements we have given ourselves.
#4. Our thoughts are NOT our consciousness. Our thoughts are merely the perception of how we see this world. Our thoughts are accumulation of our memories and our experiences. Your thoughts come from the entitlements you have given yourself like your name and the "reputation".
#5. Now,our sub-consciousness is nothing but not realising what we are. (That is what I like to think). To control or I'd rather say, to reduce our subconsciousness, we must realise what we are and what consciousness really is.
#6. We share a consciousness with everyone and everything. Like I said before, we are all created by same matter and energy. Every atom in our whole body was once "one". Every atom in the whole universe was just YOU. What you touch is you, whatever you feel is you.
#7. But this great feeling of being connected to everything can't be felt just by reading something. You'll have to actually feel and realise it.

Here's how,

The key is to (again) reduce or observe your subconscious mind.
#8. Observing subconscious mind more and more takes you closer to the consciousness and consciousness is the ultimate reality.

That being said, let us name out the basic and important subconscious activity.

Breathing.
#9. When you breathe, you not just intake the oxygen but you also intake the energy. If you observe this energy, you'll feel that many things are happening when you breathe. Just by observing the breathing, you can feel the flow of energy in your body, the feel of air around you.
#10. Just by breathing slowly and observing it, you'll feel connected to everything that is around you. This exact feeling of connection is the consciousness. Everything in this world is just different perception of you itself. whatever we see, feel, breathe and touch is just us.
#11. When you realise what consciousness really is, you free yourself from the concept of birth and death. You free yourself from the concept of time. The only thing you have is your consciousness/soul, which is the only constant.

TIME DOES NOT EXIST, YOUR SOUL DOES.
#12. Now, I know this is not enough. Because the consciousness just cannot be explained in such small paragraphs. But this is just the start. Meditate on this concept. It detaches you from everything. A great technique to unplug yourself before sleeping.
