A few important details: 1. technical evidence supports the assertion that the “Proud Boys” were not responsible for sending the threatening emails. Consistent with public research, we find the emails originated from several likely compromised servers in Estonia and Saudi Arabia.
2. The video purporting to show a live attack against a voter database was very likely staged. The claimed SQL injection attack targets a host in Moldova, and not an election server as claimed. This server was likely created for the video to give the impression of an attack.
3. Most voter data is public per state laws. While the video contained only public data for Florida, it appeared to contain non-public data such as partial SSNs for Alaska. It is possible the actors compiled this from other data sources such as past breaches of American companies
Voting in America continues to be safe, private, and secure. Americans must not be discouraged by these attempts of foreign interference, and can ensure the integrity of the election by voting to make our voices heard.
