However, a cursory internet search will tell you that people were strongly coerced into wearing masks (gauze) in order to prevent the spread of the virus.
Naturally, this did not work and it doesn’t take a leap of genius to attribute the lethal secondary...

Allow the non-pathogenic virus to run its course but protect against the lethal secondary bacterial infection. Maybe this is why Fauci initially didn’t recommend them?
I’m no expert, but having read these papers and looked into history...
