The one PP policy that I had cautious support for was the language policy AS I UNDERSTOOD IT. I was happy to hear more federal working languages will make the services of the federal government available to more people who seek it./1

I could not have been more wrong. PPs language policy is literally a copy of that of Apartheid South Africa. Not only that, what is enraging is that Addis Ababa is JUST the seat of the federal government. As a CHARTERED CITY, Addis' governance MUST be decided by its citizens./2

PP has no business imposing it's will on a constitutionally chartered city. What PP is doing is not only wrong, it's criminal. I'm very sure that "2 INDIGINEOUS languages" does not mean someone who speaks Wolayta & Gamo, Awngi & Amharic or Oromo & Anuak etc (you get the point)./3

PP's criminal activity is specifically designed to disenfranchise two groups of people: Addis Abebians & the Amhara. Why should any other local language be a requirement for the workforce in a city where 100% residents speak Amharic as a first or second language? Sure, people /4

who can't understand Amharic come seeking federal government services in Addis. How about provide a qualified translator or provide those same services in regional capitals? If there is any other language (besides Amharic) that civil servants could be equipped with in Addis is /5

English (as the capital of Africa & host to many other international organizations). In a country where Amhara, BG, SNNPR & Gambella RSs use Amharic as a working language, what is the reason behind discriminating against Amharic in the national capital? You might say Addis is /6

also the capital of Oromia. Yes, but that is unconstitutional and criminal to start with. @eskinder_nega once said "To save Ethiopia, we must save Addis." No wonder he was the ONE threat to PP's hidden agenda and no wonder he is behind bars. I am almost certain that the /7

massacres that go on in other parts of the country are orchestrated by the government of Oromia. Is it any wonder that Oromia regional state has claims over Nech Sar National Park, Wondo Genet, Gambella & BG? Is it any wonder that @ShimelisAbdisa & Obbo Lemma have been /8

caught on air talking about their demographic engineering? Obbo Lemma once said "የዚች ሀገር ፖለቲካ የከተማ ፖለቲካ ነው"። Eee, Akassi dha. There is a proverb in Afaan Oromo "Olkaa’an fuudhan malee olka’an hinfudhan"-"One takes tomorrow what is saved today." And another /9

one: "Mataa malee balbala hinbaan" (ይቺን ራሳችሁ ተርጉሙ)።

These people have decided to have the cake and eat it all too. The danger won't go away if you bury your head in the sand. I say "you" here b/c I feel unqualified & stupid saying all theseas a legal foreigner /10

Almost all my family and friends speak two local languages & we are trilingual or quadrilingual if you add the foreign languages. I have seen how multilingualism opens up the world in a (beautifully) different way. It's like every language is a door to a secrete garden. /11

I am a firm believer in the immense value of multilingualism.

But what @prosperity2022, led by @PMEthiopia is engaging in is the physical, cultural, linguistic, & economic genocide on Addis Abebians & the Amhara. This is my friends, has been foretold by Asaminew Tsige. /12

It happened in the 15th Century. The languages, cultures & customs of many Southern people would have been extinct (like many) if it was not for the Northern Abyssinians.

For the rest, it is coming to you. But here is a word of advise: Remember that people often accuse others of the very thing they espouse incessantly. For 40+ years the Amhara were labeled as assimilationist "oppressors." Think of the last two years & think very hard again./END
