There is a lot I don't understand even remotely about Windows or lower-level computer function. I'm always coming across stuff and questions from management during investigations I just don't have a solid answer for without research.
Frankly I feel guilty a lot of the time because I know it can seem like I can answer so much about Windows and security. But that level of awareness just leads to discovering even more I don't know, and anxiety nobody ever gets me in a corner and grills me on it and finds out.
But it's going to feel like that every step of the way from the beginning. It's important to recognize and accept it not as a gap in professional capability you can someday finally fix and finish, but a fact of life in a world more complex than human lifetime.
I'm always surprised when "I'll find out" isn't just an acceptable answer at the highest levels of IT, it's often the default answer. That's just how it works.

Frankly, knowing it off the top of my head isn't good enough. I have to go off and make sure I understand it correctly.
