Basically, since Hixon dropped that TD pass in 2008, this has been an absolutely brutal run for the Giants. https://www.footballdb.com/teams/nfl/new-york-giants/teamvsteam?opp=24">https://www.footballdb.com/teams/nfl...
Playoff loss? All-time heartbreakers? Career ending injuries? All of the above.
I can do this thread all day, and mostly from memory, I think.
12/07/2008: The & #39;08 Giants were the best iteration of the Coughlin era and were basically untouchable early. They lost Plaxico, though, and this was the first sign of trouble. They dropped a wide open TD early and never recovered. They lost.
Even without Plax I thought that team had a good chance to repeat. Given that the Cardinals (!) ended up emerging from the NFC, I think they would& #39;ve won the whole thing if they& #39;d... beaten the Eagles on 01/11/2009, the only team in the conference that could beat them. Nope.

12/13/2009: I THINK this was a game where Eli Manning was clearly trying to slide, but b/c he was a terrible slider, he coughed up the football and it was ruled a fumble. They played lights out on offense. Lost.
12/19/2010: Up 21 points with 7:00 to go, Giants blow it and lose on an improbable punt return TD as time expires. I threw a phone into the wall. Loss.
