I've only ever seen three of the original series (I, III and VII) plus the 2009 reboot so this weekend I'll be marathoning Jason and his mother.

Wondering at exactly what point I'm going to give up, desperate for something else......
Good music. I may have scarier toenails but this one remains a decent little exploitationer of its era. The killer is one bad mother.
I remember this as having some notoriety but the most shocking thing so far is that the first 7 minutes of an 87 minute film is taken up with a dream sequence recap.

Can't wait for the head counsellor prick to get it. Fuckin' prick.
It's good to know that a machete-in-the-face shot can still make me laugh like a drain.

This is silly but quite good fun, even if the MPAA did cut it to shreds.

Here's a groovy UK double bill quad.
While I have a 3D blu ray player I annoyingly don't have a 3D TV, so while I go and work out what did happen to Paul I'm also going to consider whether to go low-fi with my old DVD of Part III.

What say you, Twitterati?
Lord have mercy....
Hitting my groove with these now. Wish someone would do a little season or a day of 80s 3D 35mm with the clear polarised lenses.

The effects in this are about as subtle as the 3D "effecr" on the poster.....
Distict reduction in sex content from Part II.
These sick fuckers still chuckling over the eyeball scene......
If I'm gonna get through another 2 of these I'm gonna jack myself up with another cup of coffee.

I first saw the trailer for The "Final" Chapter on an essential show of my youth that tpdays youth won't have heard of cos we don't really talk about it anymore: Entertainment USA.
Two important questions.

1) What is going on with Crispin Glover's fringe?

2) How much cheaper than Rob Lowe was the Rob Lowe-alike?

The banana moment is up there in the top ten highlights.
This is truly terrible. When are they all going to die?
Final Chapter does have its moments once the witless leering gives way to some serious gore.

Poor Feldman. Not only must that final scene have seriously fucked up his young mind but when he's shaved his head he looks like he's turning into Bat Boy.
For anyone who thinks modern movie poster design can sometimes be rather lazy, I give you Friday The 13th Part V: A New Beginning.
For a movie even Wikipedia notes had a serious issue with hard drug use on set A New Beginning gives off a particularly nasty vibe.

A point of interest for me, however, is that it has Marco St John in it, otherwise recognised as the leery truck driver in Thelma & Louise.
Five down. That's more than enough for one day. The other five tomorrow.

My head is a little bit numb.
Last night's Vorhees overload didn't affect my dreams the way I thought they might, and I had a very pleasant night's sleep for a change.

So I'm ready for the rest of it. As ready as I'll ever be.

Did Jason Lives get a UK theatrical release on its own or just in this double?
I was told I'd enjoy this by my friends @DirtInTheGate. A fine start to today. Gets straight on it with an outrageous and hilarious opening and barely let's up. So far, anyway. The most enjoyable since Part II.
Straight to video in the UK? I'm unsure. If, way back when, my friends and I had rented Parts 1 and 6 I'd have undoubtedly been a fan. Sadly we rented Part 7. Although I would have enjoyed seeing what Fellini may have done with it, had they actually gone ahead and hired him.
The thing I remember most about The New Blood is the somewhat hilarious 'sleeping bag' murder. Not so much due to the ridiculousness of the kill, more the stupidity of the character thinking that they could escape Jason by getting in a sleeping bag.
