I absolutely LOVE how we start the ep with Pearl allowing us to see another side of her that we haven't seen before. Reminding us that our bubbly friends are often the ones who actually have a lot of worries and actually experience a lot of loneliness #PearlNextDoorEp1

Y'know, I love this line because putting someone on your emergency contact list is actually such an act of love. It means that person is someone you love & cherish a lot and is someone who loves & cherishes you in return #PearlNextDoorEp1

BRUH KARLEEN SMOOTH AF THIS BASICALLY MEANS "I LIKE YOU ENOUGH TO WANNA BE THE ONE YOU RELY ON" IM-- #PearlNextDoorEp1

Yeah this is basically how queer womxn communicate when we're trying to figure out if the other person is seriously flirting or not (or if they're just being really nice) THEIR ACTING IS SPOT ON #PearlNextDoorEp1

I love that in Pearl's mind it's so obvious that supporting her ex's coming out is the most logical thing to do. Her love is unconditional to the point that they can be friends even after breaking up (now i get why she teased Gav abt not wanting to kiss her ) #PearlNextDoorEp1

I actually don't know how I personally feel about looks mattering in a relationship. I tend to value connection a lot more, but I do think we're all definitely first interested in someone from their looks whether we're conscious about it or not #PearlNextDoorEp1

It's such a simple line and they don't say much afterwards, but this exchange conveyed SO many feelings and I felt like Pearl just laid her heart out for Karleen even though what she said can seem so casual #PearlNextDoorEp1

Fonzy best boy. Reminding his bestie Pearl to remember who she is and what she brings to the table and to focus on the present moment and just be herself. Their friendship is love #PearlNextDoorEp1

This was a funny bit but I also can't help but think Fonzy has a crush on a straight boy Or at least someone who he wants to get close to but who doesn't know his sexuality? Fonzy bb please be careful #PearlNextDoorEp1

They do end up talking but I really appreciate how Pearl checked in with Karleen first to see if she's free and that Karleen was honest that she doesn't feel her energy level is there. This is good healthy communication! #PearlNextDoorEp1

I agree with Pearl here - it feels like Karleen is blaming Pearl for changing their friendship when all Pearl did was stay true to herself and was honest about her feelings. This is kind of manipulative Miss Karleen? No one is at fault here, love #PearlNextDoorEp1

Karleen kind of said: "Our friendship was going so well, why did you have to ruin it by confessing your feelings for me?" Yet she was the one who was so suave and so charming and made Pearl feel so special #PearlNextDoorEp1

Karleen's response reminds me that when we've been hurt in the past and don't deal with it properly, we can unintentionally hurt and push people away in order to protect ourselves from getting hurt. Even though they genuinely and truly love us #PearlNextDoorEp1

KARLEEN DON'T TELL ME YOU'RE JUST USING PEARL TO STAY SANE DURING THE PANDEMIC??? Cuz damn that would hurt so much #PearlNextDoorEp1

I love Pearl. I love how she is so genuinely and unapologetically herself. I love that she intends to lay all her cards on the table and not hide anything. I love how she took the leap of faith and confessed what she's feeling. I love how she is herself. #PearlNextDoorEp1

Ok 2 things were going on here for me:

1. Even tho its uncomfortable I feel that Karleen brought up an important question that needs to be discussed

2. I wanted to tell Pearl that its okay to not know your identity as long as u know your feelings are genuine!! #PearlNextDoorEp1

But I do think that if Pearl has never talked about her sexuality before, it's an important thing to address if they were going to start anything. I resonate with Karleen's worry that she wants to make sure Pearl's "I like you" is a queer romantic "I like you" #PearlNextDoorEp1

(As opposed to a confused hetero + platonic "I like you" I guess?)

As a queer person, I've definitely been in situations where a "straight" girl shows affection but only because she felt safe in our queer interaction. She didn't "like" me to the point of wanting to date but she liked me bc of the attention she was receiving #PearlNextDoorEp1

Okay even tho I feel like Karleen is sort of dismissing Pearl's genuine feelings here, I can feel her and I can feel that she's speaking from a place of hurt. Miss K I feel you but pls this is not the way!! Esp with Pearl who is so genuine in her affections! #PearlNextDoorEp1

This line hurts more than it soothes wow #PearlNextDoorEp1

I feel that Karleen is projecting her past hurt from an ex onto Pearl. Pearl is so genuine in her confession (and she repeats it multiple times!) that it doesn't seem she will take advantage of her, but Karleen can't see that bc she's afraid of getting hurt #PearlNextDoorEp1

"Do you think that's a safe space for friendship?" - Pearl asking the really important questions. Also she confessed her feelings so earnestly I got emotional... #PearlNextDoorEp1

And this is the part my brain stopped functioning when the beautiful Alex Aguirre entered the call (god how is she so beautiful??!) #PearlNextDoorEp1

OKAY BUT PEARL'S REACTION AND THEIR CHEMISTRY IS SO CUTE! #PearlNextDoorEp1

The details in Alex's room are so cute - the Monty Python posters and the rainbow tape that holds up her little printed pictures??? My heart :') #PearlNextDoorEp1

All in all I rlly enjoyed this ep! It sparked a lot of discussions about biphobia across diff platforms which is smth we definitely need to talk abt in our community. Kudos to PND for bringing it into this ep and excited to see how the characters will tackle it! #PearlNextDoorEp1
