All these people rooting for the end of physical offices, I bet a lot of y’all either don’t have kids or have spacious living arrangements. But what you’re not thinking about is how you’re saying that people should pay their employers’ overhead costs.
Working from home has been great for me in a bunch of ways, but I don’t have kids and have extremely spacious living arrangements. I can afford the cost of the overhead, although I don’t like how expensive it is. So this isn’t personal angst. Just clarity.
Overhead costs include: internet, WiFi routers (maybe mesh depending on house size), electricity, gas, water/sewage, garbage, and wear and tear from use of the space.
It’s not your job as an employee to subsidize your company’s costs, whether it is convenient for you or not.
There is a larger social context here besides what’s best for you as an individual

The world may survive this global warming thing if Americans ever fucking figure that out
Me: making this thing a uniform policy that affects millions is a bad idea
