I wish people would stop saying something is "rooted in pedophilia" when they mean, "It& #39;s predatory" or even, "It& #39;s a red flag."
tbh I do think its a big red flag if a guy has a very strong preference for petite women (Like someone who is ONLY attracted to them) but not because its "pedophilic" & framing it this way is giving cover for the actual problem here - abusive men targeting petite women.
imo when men fetishize petite women it comes from a place of wanting someone smaller and weaker than them that they can more easily abuse and control. I speak from experience here, as a small, short, petite afab person - guys like this treat small, short, petite women like prey.
These men also tend to demean taller, stronger looking women for the same reasons. They don& #39;t see a tall woman as an easy target for abuse so they try to shame these women for something that they can& #39;t control.
Also this is not to say that being a large man who is attracted to a small woman is inherently predatory.
Sometimes it can be a red flag, but not always. I hate how twitter boils down stuff like this like its a rule instead of something to be wary about when you come across it.
