Remember '08, when he invited congressman/presidential candidate Ron Paul for an interview about Austrian economics. The GOP candidate arrived at the studio and exchanged pleasantries with the man he thought was his host. A few seconds into the conversation, a light goes out. /2

Cohen suggests Paul go into another room to wait. Turns out to be a hotel room. No chairs, so Paul sits on the bed. Lighting is low. Cohen offers Paul champagne, which he politely declines. Strawberries & caviar are on the table. /3

The 73-year-old congressman gets uncomfortable/quiet/perturbed when Cohen takes off his jacket, compliments Paul’s “cute” appearance, turns out a lamp, puts on sexual music, and begins to dance suggestively. Paul physically walks away from him. /4

But, there’s nowhere to go. Cohen's blocked the door, gyrating to music. Paul picks up a newspaper and pretends to read it. Finally, Cohen unbuckles his belt and drops his pants. When Paul sees Cohen in form-fitting satin underwear, he storms the door. Bruno blocks his exit. /5

'Get outta here,' an agitated Paul yells, waving him off. Secret cameras in the hallway catch the obviously upset Paul trying to explain to his aides what happened. Since Paul didn’t know that this was satire, his feelings of being fooled by a sexual predator were real. /6

Luring someone into a sexually uncomfortable situation is not acceptable — not for Matt Lauer, Harvey Weinstein, or Sacha Baron Cohen. The #MeToo movement’s principles are not suspended when someone thinks it’s funny to use sexuality as a tool OR score political points. /7

Okay, so the Paul situation was different than Rudy's but feels similar in set up. I don't think we as a culture have dealt honestly or fairly with what Cohen did to Paul. Sexual humiliation should not be used as a tool... Period. /END
