As a person who used to vote a straight republican ticket because i thought it reflected my faith I am begging y’all single issue “pro life” voters to develop some critical thinking skills
Like - you want a confession? I didn’t vote for Obama in 2008. I wasn’t sad or mad he won and found myself inspired by his inauguration & pleases with the job he did but I voted McCain (even w/Palin - I KNOW) then I dug deeper into what I actually thought about issues.
By the time Mitt and his binders of women came around I figured out who I was and what I really believed. I just want to give some good hearted people permission to change their minds.
At one point I said “well I’m a republican. I mean I think gay people should be able to get married and climate change is real and abortion really should be between a woman and her doctor and healthcare should be more accessible but I’m a republican”
And then I realized “I don’t think I’m voting for people who will act on the things I actually believe”
