I cannot stop thinking about those 545 children. What are they doing tonight? How did they go to sleep? Did anyone sing to them? Did anyone make sure they brushed their teeth? Are they in pajamas?

Are they cold? Do they have enough blankets?

Do they have school tomorrow? Who brushes their hair? Who kisses their knees when they have boo boos?

What happens on their birthdays? When was the last time they got a hug?

Bedtime tonight at my house was long. I went back in several times - to return a stuffed animal, to assure everyone that there weren’t scary things in the dark. It is painful to think of how scared those children are and have been.

Someone should just record this thread as an ad and target every mom group on Facebook.
