There's a specific animation/camera angle that happens in this fight I was waiting for (when the camera focuses on Elvoret when it casts a spell) but it hasn't happened yet and we're approaching him being dead so here's windbreath

And Elvoret is dead. First boss down, can't wait to have beaten the game by July

Also I don't remember any other boss fight making such a big deal of the particles ascending to the heavens after they die, which is especially weird since Elvoret has NO plot significance outside of "Ah! Big monster!"

But then again the last time I played this game was ten years ago so

Seifer you ass, if you hadn't gotten it in your arrogant little head that you had to be a bog damn hero we wouldn't be in this mess (Squall and Zell are culpable too, they didn't HAVE to follow him)

Can I just say I simultaneously love and hate Seifer, as in, there are times where he's a compelling character, and times where he's just an ass because the plot needs someone to be an ass

Also 15 year old me was so into FF8 I got this, which I kind of mistreated. Seifer's gunblade is honestly poorly designed to be swinging around, but it has a cooler name than Squall's. Yeah, their gunblades have names. Squall's is Revolver, Seifer's is Hyperion

The X-ATM092 (yeah that's its name) is especially egregious because there are 1) several points where you can't avoid fighting it 2) FF8 makes it hard to deal a ton of damage without expending valuable resources 3) THIS FUCKING SEQUENCE IS TIMED.

I'm going to choose *not* to go back and to get Siren. Siren isn't all that helpful, and her feather pubes make me uncomfortable. I'll try not to miss anymore Guardian Forces
