How to beat every PL team thread:
Gonna add to this whenever
Arsenal:
I look to their loss against Liverpool. Arsenal like to sit back quite a lot then hit teams with a long ball over the top to counter. Liverpool made this harder by bringing Keita and Gini further up than usual, putting more pressure on the Arsenal backline.
This meant that they had less time and more pressure to get the ball off quicker. Clearly this hurt their attack as they only managed 4 shots all game, while, because of the high focus attack from Liverpool they had 21 and inevitably won 3-1.
Aston Villa:
No one in the league has done it so far, so I look to their defeat 2-0 vs Southampton last season. Southampton clearly pushed Villa into the ground, with 8/10 outfield players averaging position inside Villa's half.
This meant that Villa struggled to get the ball outside their half, although they did have a higher possession. Therefore it was important that Southampton pressed to regain the ball and attack again and again. If you do this well, you will get chances vs Villa - S'oton had 28!!
Brighton: As shown here in their 3-1 defeat to Chelsea, Brighton are very attack minded even vs teams better than them. While this means they can match you on chances, it also gives you a great opportunity to counter attack. As seen for Chelsea, having almost a wall helps this.
Chelsea essentially played with a line of 5 in midfield, which meant it was much easier to win the ball and counter attack. Chelsea managed to get 2 successful counters off in this game, and it really helped them win. Brighton also lost possession 14 times more than Chelsea here.
OK that's it until later, where I will do Chelsea, Palace and Everton!
