We're now listening to Mariah Carey's version of O Come, All Ye Faithful in the Clive Palmer/Twisted Sister face-off. This is amazing.

So, the expert for Clive Palmer has suggested that Mariah's cover of O Come, All Ye Faithful is actually "more varied" from the classic version of the carol than Twisted Sister's We're Not Gonna Take It.

He says he is not talking in "superficial" terms but in terms of "melodic contour". But Universal Music's expert says Mariah's cover keeps the melody of O Come, All Ye Faithful intact but "it's sort of encrusted with embellishments", rather like "barnacles" on a boat's hull (!)
