Omg 🥺 bless u this makes me feel better. OK lemme break it down, a thread on how i make a few dollars as an artist: https://twitter.com/juutanart/status/1319413325499895808
1. Twitch got me started and it'd be crazy to not mention it. It creates a personal connection with people so they are MUCH more likely to support you on patreon and buy your prints, not to mention subs and bits
I used to make $800-2000 a month on Twitch last year but this year it was about $50-200. Not including tips either year.
Twitchcon was a profitable convention to me, and I was able to make about 4k that weekend which is a lot for a noob like me
Etsy was a very slow grind but after using TIKTOK consistently, it's really gotten much better. Anywhere between 50-a few hundred a month.
Patreon has been a nice steady flow of $300-500. My tiers aren't expensive. Most people want access to the special discord channel($5). Make one and make it active and... Special!
Commissions were never very consistent until I got active on tiktok, which translated into more ig followers. Same with Twitter. Growing your Twitter and ig leads to a lot more commissions.
Unethical LPT is to lie about commissions if you have to đź’€ I've NEVER DONE THIS (yall won't believe me now tho lol) but if you post commissions, you will get commissions.

I DON'T ENDORSE THIS BUT IT'S TRUE FJQKSNXJLC
So I make anywhere from 400-1500 from commissions in the last few months which is great for me!!! Tiktok is really good to get into. TRUST. Do it now.
That's all I got but I'm an open book, so ask about any part you have questions about!!!
Also the non unethical version of that commission LPT is to constantly post ""COMMISSION examples"" (lowercase đź’€) people wanna see what they will get and they also like things that feel popular.
Oh and finally don't try to add these numbers together and say it equals much more or less than 20k.

Some months I barely streamed, or paused my patreon, or took down my shop, closed commissions...etc. It's just the average.
