My dad is an old-school architect/project manager. He's a meticulous documenter and a very detail-oriented person (anyone who knows him would agree).
He's the kind of guy who when emailing an article to you, would send the URL, a copy/paste of the article, and sometimes (for good measure) an attached PDF of the article.
When I graduated from college and moved into my first off-campus house, he bought me a drill set. He went to Home Depot, shrugged off the salespeople because he knew what he needed to buy.
Years later and many moves later, I still have and use this drill set. However, yesterday I discovered both batteries were dead. Defective dead.
I was about to drive to Home Depot to buy a new battery when a thought crossed my mind... what were the odds that my dad registered the drill's warranty? and kept the receipts? and sent them to me?
🙌 Boom. On brand. With scanned attachments and everything. Thanks dad.
