WHY YEEZUS IS KANYE’S BEST ALBUM.

I go through phases when it comes to my favourite Kanye album but right now I’m in a “Yeezus” phase. I want to show you the genius behind this album and why I think it’s Kanye’s best.

Production: It’s been described as “sonic cocaine” and I couldn’t agree more, this album is full of energy from beginning to end. (Continued...)

The production is so minimalistic compared to most Ye albums but so ahead of it’s time. It dropped in 2013, but still sounds like something that could’ve dropped in 2020. (Continued...)

It’s so abrasive and in your face, and then has beautiful moments like the outro to “New Slaves,” sample in “On Sight,” and Cudi’s outro in “Guilt Trip.”

Lyricism: Although people criticize the lyrics, it’s ignorant and full of energy and fits the purpose of this album, which is about breaking boundaries.

Influence: This album was influenced by Travis’s “Owl Pharoah,” but both of these albums have heavily influenced a lot of the new SoundCloud era. We wouldn’t have artists like Denzel Curry, Billie Eilish, Jaden Smith, and even Rocky’s “Testing” album.

Story: Adopting an alter ego, Kanye struggles with all of the temptations that come with fame and this alter ego leads Ye to self destruction. He also struggles with finding love through all of this and I feel like this is such a common issue for all the big dreamers.

Kanye even said he prefers 808’s & Heartbreak and Yeezus over MBDTF because he took a lot more risk and innovated with these albums. I find this whole album inspiring. It makes me feel like I can do anything while also feeling vulnerable.

This is Kanye’s most divisive album because it’s true art. True art makes you either hate it or love it and no in between. Overall I think no Ye album has been this relatable, was this ahead of it’s time and took this much risk. That is why, Yeezus is Kanye’s best album.
