Okay so this Zoom bomb....

I was told to come to my department’s faculty meeting to talk about all of my DEI work I’ve been doing. But the key was I had to be there promptly at 1:30 pm.

I did an event for @BMHSMustangs with @AbGreer that ended at that time.

I had an amazing time talking to baby lady Mustangs!

So I make it to the zoom meeting at 1:30 pm and the first thing I notice is that it was being recorded.

Okay cool. That’s fine

THENNN I saw my mom.

Then @BeaucoupChem @t_lsteele @bribrownlow and @JoyRutherford14

And I knew something was up.

The chair of the department starts talking and passes the mic to the president of the university. Dr. Johnson starts talking about me and my science and she announced that I won the Next Generation Innovator of Year award!

I was floored y’all. I had NO idea this was coming

So I’m sitting there listening to multiple people saying all these nice things about what I’m doing both science and DEI-wise and I did not hold it together well.

Here’s me crying and trying to play it off

It was literally the sweetest thing ever! My loved ones were on there to celebrate me and hearing the heads of my department be proud of me was so great.

@BeaucoupChem alsooooo came over to bring me flowers, balloons, and baby bottles of whiskey

So suffice to say I was surprised and I am sooo humbled to have been awarded OSU’s Next Generation Innovator of the Year award
