for me personally i always approach mobages with the idea that many thing will simply not get expanded bc that's what happens when you have 20+ characters and only so much space and time to let them all develop. so while i do enjoy the whole characterization analysis process

i'm also always reminding myself that many characters are born as a trope and will keep the characteristics of that trope, without them ever being explained with plot points or storylines. like. some characters need to be the comic relief. some characters will be the tearjerkers

and so on. so like going back to characterization, while i do support hcs bc like? why would i not lol? i love people adding their own thoughts onto the canonical work, that's what makes fandoms great. but i also think that sometimes it's necessary to understand that

in mobages the canonical story more often than not will have some very specific limits, things that you have to accept as is bc the writers don't have real explanations for them other than saying "this is what gets us the money"

and i feel like this might be one of the issues with a3 as a fandom - bc many people will try to make sense of some of the a3 writing (bc it IS bland or annoying) but don't realise that there is no deeper meaning other than things selling well

and like. that's what makes the canon & fanon get confused. bc a3 is one of the mobages with the hardest limits, like. a3 relies HEAVILY on some tropes, and while i do enjoy how most of them seem to be able to fit together for the bigger story, i also think that

we simply cannot escape some of the most annoying things (which are annoying especially bc they're slapped in your face with no explanation other than "this makes the character quirky")

so anyway this was just about me & what i think are the limits of certain types of works

and also like i think there doesn't need to be actual canonical evidence for a hc to stand. i mean, it's called HEADcanon for a reason. i just don't feel it's necessary to carve the canon to fit our personal headcanons

or else zensan will be closing his restaurant to fuck bambi in the back you get me? like i don't need canonical evidence of them fucking to know they fuck
