I hate talking about things I've done, but I'm really proud that the student sex worker safety guidance, information and self-care I wrote after my own poor experiences at University has remained word for word, and become a part of a national toolkit and resource.

(THREAD)
Improving safety, breaking down stigma and ensuring people can access support and not feeling alone is very important to me, especially for new sex workers. People forget the vulnerabilities of students: away from their support networks and family, new city & no idea of services
Not to mention unsure of their new friends, who they might not feel they can trust. Many fear being expelled if caught, others work in complete secrecy due to courses such as nursing, medicine, social work. Joining the sex industry at 18 is difficult & worse when you feel alone.
I had no idea of support services, hadn't heard of the sex work community, and didn't tell anybody. I felt as if I was the only one, and it's not as if you can message a sex worker on AdultWork and say hello...

I hope it just makes people realise there's help out there
I wrote most of it from my own experiences, and frustration.
I'm really proud of it! It's not perfect but I did my best and gave as much of myself as I could.

My next hope is to push Universities to change their morality clauses, and I would love to deliver training to staff and students about supporting student sex workers.
If there are any academics, lecturers or anyone working with students, please feel free to contact me. I am always happy to help, answer questions if I know them, point in the right direction or join in pushing the Uni to change their policies.
Students: you are not alone! There are many student sex workers, and sex workers in general. There is a whole community out there, and some of the loveliest I have met who will help you at the first opportunity. We will always offer safety info and advice. Always.
Anyway, thanks for reading my thread. I am so glad some of my shitty experiences will hopefully go on to help others, and ensure they don't go through the same crap as I did.
