So I noticed something a few months ago about David Fincher - he has LOTS of ideas. And he talks about them during his film commentary tracks.
So, in the run up to Mank, I've started an ill-advised project going through his 9 features and listing all his ideas he loves to talk about... starting with Se7en.
I think Se7en is quite low on the 'idea' scale - I only counted 9 and for a 127 minute film, that's one idea per 14 minutes (or IPM).
You can read my Se7en roundup, self-published on Medium below. Please tell me what you think too. I'll hopefully have The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo done by the weekend

Here's an example of the sort of stuff Fincher talks about during the commentary to Se7en https://tomdavidson92.medium.com/david-fincher-has-lots-of-ideas-se7en-4ea380a68d30
The Girl with Dragon Tattoo is 160 minutes long and why on earth did I decide to do this stupid project.

Sacking it off for the evening to watch De Palma’s Blow Out instead.
