Neurotypical people of Earth: this is an announcement.

For millennia you have shared this planet with autistic people. In that time, you have benefitted greatly from the positive developments they have brought to society and civilisation. /1

You have enjoyed the fruits of autistic people's hard work, hyperfocus and skill. Everything from fire, the wheel, evolution, computers may well have been forged in the brains of autistic people. But you have not responded to them with kindness. /2

Too often, autistic people are shunned, othered, treated as inferior, abused and killed for no reason other than having a different brain structure to the rest of the population. This does not strike me as fair. /3

Autistic people wish simply to live lives of peace and fruitful endeavour, lives that are not ruined by a wide range of negative behaviours, lives that are free for us to live. Is this so much to ask? /4

Neurotypical people of Earth: you must learn about autism, about how there is a large population that lives in daily stress and misery, and you must accept and understand them. How many amazing products of autistic people have we missed due to this? /5

No more. Things must improve.
