2/ Largest option to decarbonize power & industry in state. Second largest in transportation.

Can get ~63 Mt/y - about 15% of CA emissions.

Can save CA ratepayers $750M/y and provide continued firm, reliable power.

3/ CCS can support CO2 removal (DAC & BECCS), Low-C hydrogen

Supports key communities & jobs in CA, and has the support of organized labor.

4/ Glad to see an explicit breakout of the agencies & authorities in CA and what is required to permit.

@EFIForTheFuture recommends the state coordinate CCS activities across agencies.

5/ A key new contribution: a marginal abatement curve for CCS statewide. With current policy & conservative assumptions, a LOT of projects appear economically viable now.

6/ CCS deployment in CA would:

- improve air quality
- create economic activity (direct & indirect)
- create & protect jobs
- support just transition
- make opportunities for global markets
- provide global climate leadership

7/ I like many of the specific recommendations. Two stand out:

- Prioritize CCS projects that dramatically improve air quality
- Purchase CO2 removal associates with CCS (e.g., biomass wastes to hydrogen).
