LRT people outside of the animation industry making assumptions about people THEY DONT KNOW based on what they see on the internet can be really dangerous. I’ve been sent death threats multiple times because of what others have assumed about me and my coworkers.
It’s always interesting seeing how people genuinely think the animation industry is just full of artists who want to ruin your favorite show, or purposefully hurt viewers. We’re just people. And things behind the scenes are always more complex than they’d appear to the viewer
I’ve had revenge porn drawn of me and my friends, assumptions about my kinks, threats to come to fan events and shoot me and my crew if a certain ship didn’t become canon, and people telling me to kill myself because of a trans coded character. Guys, it’s never worth doing this.
And I’ve known others who’ve had worse. I’m not saying people aren’t allowed to face criticism by any means, but this desire to cancel and invalidate people from your own perceived grievances can do way more harm than good.
