Everybody claims that they know what Scorpios are truly like. You've heard the words: They're transformative, intense, horny, all of it. People always seem to only exclusively describe Scorpio in extremes... but is that the only way we can only describe Scorpio?
By only describing Scorpio with polarization, it's hard to see Scorpio for what they are... Human. Ironically, I think that's what Scorpios really want. They don't want to be a sexy trope, they want to be seen as human beings with complex experiences.
The irony of everyone claiming to know Scorpio is that the more we claim to know, the less we do actually know... and I think it's okay to not know them. We need to let them have the power of unfolding themselves to us if they want to.
I'm not going to act like I know Scorpios, but I'm just going to talk about the astrology of them and see where it goes. Personally for me though, I've learned a lot more about Scorpios once I actually stopped to look at them... for a while. A long while. With no quick judgments.
The first thing when it comes to knowing about Scorpio is to make careful judgment. Scorpios are careful. They know how powerful a wrong answer could be. Actually, in general, Scorpio is aware of power. They're ruled by Mars, the planet of power and energy.
Most Scorpios I have run across have always been so mindful of their actions. They calculate the amount of time and energy it takes to do a certain action, weigh the risks, observe their circumstances, and more. They don't ever want to waste their time on anything.
Waste is a concept Scorpios hate to experience. Scorpios hate wasting time. They hate the possibility that their purposeful action could somehow transform into a waste of time because life is out of their control. Scorpios try to sustain purpose in everything they do.
So, why purpose? Why does Scorpio stick to purpose? Well, Scorpio's a fixed sign, and the point of purpose is to sustain a consistent action and goal. When Scorpios go through challenges, something as comforting as purpose can assure them that they're not suffering for nothing.
However, I don't think it's completely fair to pin Scorpios as signs that simply only use purpose to comfort themselves in challenging times. That would imply that they're reliant on purpose, which would kind of defeat their main purpose: to not be reliant on anything.
As a sign ruled by Mars, Scorpio is good at surviving and enduring. Scorpio knows that with reliance, there can be an unequal power dynamic. I think the wisest Scorpios realize that unequal power dynamics are inevitable, but that doesn't mean that they're weak for using it.
I mean, I think the most affirming thing you can tell a Scorpio is that there will be no situation that will ever pinpoint them as a weak person. Maybe the reason why Scorpios have that emo "against the world" vibe because they're trying to prove to the world that they're strong.
You know what's so ironic about Scorpios? They act as if they have to prove their strength to the world when everyone is already aware of how strong they are! Why else would people try to pry and act like they know them? Why else would everyone try to control them?
However, we do need to be careful and do not exclusively define Scorpio based on their journey to realizing their own strength. It's an important journey, but not the only one. When they're not trying to prove themselves to the world, they can also be quite calm and collected.
You can have a Scorpio stare straight into your soul, and when you finally confront them, they'll look at you and go, "Oh, I was actually just thinking about nothing."

People mistake Scorpio to ONLY be intimidating when really, they're not... only when they feel threatened.
Scorpios can be just as mundane as every other sign and if anything, they're also good at minding their own business. Minding your own business is the best strategy to endure and survive. Scorpios only snoop when they need to.
Scorpios like to mind other people's businesses only to learn about the art of arguing and power plays so they can use it for next time when they need it. But other than that, they don't really care about anything else, which is why they hate small talk. It's useless to them.
But here's my final point: Scorpios are just as human as the rest of us. Ironically, I think Scorpios hate the fact that they're reduced to a sexy trope when that sexy trope kind of conceals what they're really like: Humans with complex experiences and needs.
If there's anything a Scorpio desires, it's seeing the world as it is, with no filter or bias attached. That desire is dangerous, which is why they spend their lives trying to be masters of survival and efficiency.
They know that this desire is best achieved alone, but there is a part of them that will always yearn for that one perspective that will pleasantly surprise them. They spend their lives creating the strongest conviction, but nothing thrills them more than a worthy challenge.
