Reading this Athletic article and let me share my thoughts. Most of the agents agree LeBron is the best player in the NBA but many of them qualify it with "I'm not a LeBron fan" or "I don't even like him". Very telling that they feel compelled to say that.
A few agents actually said Kevin Durant is the best player in the NBA. He hasn't played in well over a year. He's over 30 coming off what might be the worst basketball injury a player can suffer. Choosing him sounds ridiculous.
Every single top athlete has a team crafting an image. So does every celebrity and politician. Hell regular people try to craft images. I think LeBron is pretty transparent and what you see is what you get. Whoever said this is clearly hating.
This takes the cake. This agent says he isn't afraid to call LeBron James out all while doing so anonymously. If you're not afraid then put your name to it. He accuses LeBron of breaking California law and insults Rich Paul. This reeks of jealousy.
The agent accuses Rich Paul and LeBron of mismanagement and screwing other players with bad contracts. Of course, no player has ever accused Rich or LeBron of such nonsense. Nor has the NBA or NBPA.
The balls of the agent. He accuses LeBron of seducing young players. Calls these guys naive. Says Rich Paul would be disbarred if he were an attorney. If you were confused this is what gatekeeping looks like.
If you're going to say things like this have the balls to attach your name to it. We've seen white agents like David Faulk run the NBA with no dirt thrown at them. The 99 lockout was in a lot of ways a battle between agents. Shaq's (Leonard Armato) and Kobe's (Arn Tellum).
