I'm going to throw oil onto the fire about the Mori Calliope rap EP because this is a topic that's bugged me for a while but I didn't want to sound off

Mori is cool but a lot of yall only listen to certain music genres when it's presented in a specific medium and that's wack

No disrespect to Mori, she's my fav from HoloEN. The album is cute but it was legit BAD lol. It being a top charter reminds me folks will refuse to listen to stuff unless it's from their favorite anime or video game or eceleb.

I see this a lot with rap and especially jazz.

Yall know you can listen to rap or jazz or blues without it being in Persona or Cowboy Bebop, right?

It's disheartening because I know folks that gas this faux rap shit up are the same people that will skip my hip hop song on the car radio so they can play anime music quiz.

Just always been weird to me how people will love specific tracks from a game or show but never listen to the genre by itself.

And don't pretend. My memory might be fuzzy but I would make regular music sharing threads so I have a general idea of what yall actually listen to
