According to The Wall Street Journal, Covid-19 might be a cause of Quibi's downfall. Due to the service being dedicated to "on the go" users, who are no longer on the go due to the pandemic, Quibi was not as successful as intended.
Streaming wars have been very big in today's society. With a high demand of being the top company, Quibi did not stand a chance against big name companies like Apple TV+, Disney+, HBO Max, etc.
Although Quibi is saying goodbye, the idea was popular among many stars and companies. Big names like Liam Hemsworth, Anna Kendrick, Disney, and NBCUniversal were all involved with the streaming service. Maybe, one day, this innovative idea will be brought back to life again.
