A friend was a corporate high flyer. Made CEO of a subsidiary a leading corporation at 29, many said he was destined for great things. Of course having reached such heights so quickly and made some money, arrogance and over confidence prevailed. Things change.
Some missteps, a few wrong decisions he rose higher but one day it all stopped, and he sent the next decade struggling with his own (not so) successful business. He discovered who his real friends were, found how quickly you're forgotten and was disappointed and dejected.
The air of superiority disappeared, he was humbled and became humble almost pious. Suddenly and surprisingly he was pulled in by another organisation as CEO, unexpectedly. But he's a very different man from the arrogant young CEO at 29, a sense of maturity and humility ensued.
What was the lesson here. Be humble, remember that your destiny is pre-determined and you can as easily fall as you quickly rise. Sometimes you may want things but it's not meant to be. You keep trying but it doesn't happen. Really, some should learn from that lesson.
What's meant to be, will be. Just remember that, just do what you can to do good and right, your life will be fulfilling and satisfying. Maybe you don't need what you've always wanted to have that in life.
Rumours still circulate that he's destined for great things but now his ego and arrogance don't get the better of him. Now he actually says "kun faya kun" and leaveS it to a higher being to decide...
