Bike Parking
in #Cork 2020!
Since May & #JulyStimulus (29th) “re-imagining” Cork announcement we’ve seen a very slow drip of parking despite considered as "quick wins".
43 stands have been promised.
8 new locations have been delivered.

So far in 2020, there has been an increase of ~62 spaces at 8 locations. ~16 spaces in 2019
To bring the no. of spaces to the number of "near 500" pushed by CCC, see article in this thread, the remaining 25-30 stands promised by end of the yr need to provide ~422 spaces.

From an FOI request:
Phase 1 tender went out on July 29th at a cost of €17,030. No. of stands not given.
Phase 2 tender result was denied in my FOI as it had yet to be awarded. Put to tender on the 8th of Sep.

My FOI request also asked for any "consultations" with "external groups/businesses/property owners" and CCC.
This was unfortunately refused on grounds that it doesn't exist as it has been taken to be a literal consultation instead of engagement with groups/businesses etc.

Overall, @corkcitycouncil are VERY far behind on delivering promised cycling infrastructure that was promised in #JulyStimulus let alone outside of this.
FOI request on all correspondence with the NTA also incoming so that may shed more light or info so stay tuned...
