Since May & #JulyStimulus (29th) “re-imagining” Cork announcement we’ve seen a very slow drip of parking despite considered as "quick wins".

There has been an attempt to include some existing stands eg. Fitzgerald Park and Blackrock Castle Car Park by @corkcitycouncil in press releases.

I did a breakdown of new locations and the no. of parking provided - unbranded vs branded in 2020.

2/10
New locations - Unbranded:

- Corner of Princes St w/ Sth Mall (6)
- North Main St Shopping (8)
- North Main St (4)u2028
- Daunt Square (6)
u2028- Coburg Street (6)

Total bike spaces: 30
No. of car spaces repurposed: 0

3/10
New locations - Branded:

- St Patrick’s Street (opposite Merchants Quay) (8)
- Union Quay (8)
- Parnell Place (8)
- Ballincollig Regional Park (8)

Total bike spaces: 32
No. of car spaces repurposed: 0

4/10
If we include existing branded stands installed in 2019:

- Fitzgerald Park (8)
- Blackrock Castle Car Park (8)

Total bike spaces: 16
No. of car spaces repurposed: 0

5/10
So far in 2020, there has been an increase of ~62 spaces at 8 locations. ~16 spaces in 2019

To bring the no. of spaces to the number of "near 500" pushed by CCC, see article in this thread, the remaining 25-30 stands promised by end of the yr need to provide ~422 spaces.

From an FOI request:

https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="📅" title="Kalender" aria-label="Emoji: Kalender"> Phase 1 tender went out on July 29th at a cost of €17,030. No. of stands not given.

https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="📅" title="Kalender" aria-label="Emoji: Kalender"> Phase 2 tender result was denied in my FOI as it had yet to be awarded. Put to tender on the 8th of Sep.

41 days after the "re-imagining" Cork announcement...

My FOI request also asked for any "consultations" with "external groups/businesses/property owners" and CCC.

This was unfortunately refused on grounds that it doesn& #39;t exist as it has been taken to be a literal consultation instead of engagement with groups/businesses etc.

Overall, @corkcitycouncil are VERY far behind on delivering promised cycling infrastructure that was promised in #JulyStimulus let alone outside of this.

FOI request on all correspondence with the NTA also incoming so that may shed more light or info so stay tuned...https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="👀" title="Augen" aria-label="Emoji: Augen">
