Something i've been working on since 2015. my team did the original prototyping and concepting surrounding the game help and activity features. Really really excited. https://www.techradar.com/news/ps5-ui-is-finally-revealed-with-features-that-could-change-gaming-forever
hearing stuff like "change gaming forever" is hyperbole, but the intent behind giving a gamer help exactly when they need it comes down to letting more people play more of their games. it's assistive tech, not spoilers. I consider it a new form of a11y
Seeing what developers can come up with to help folks get that platinum trophy is a big, big goal for me, personally, with the activity and game help features. I don't want you to get stuck in some box canyon because you missed a widget and turn the game off.
one last thing: kids shouldn't suffer through games designed for 40 year old teenagers. (*cough kingdom hearts*) and watching your kids struggle through a game full of Disney characters sucks. Using assistive play like game help lets more kids try out games with handrails.

[disclosure: i work for ps and i didn't build the final UI or implementation for activities or game help; i am much earlier in the value chain. This thread is from the perspective of strategy, not tactics]
