You hear infrared and license plate camera and won’t spend two minutes online to find out that an LPR camera is merely a high resolution/definition camera like any other, with special optical recognition. It’s not some special camera that only reads license plates.
Removing those cameras meant removing the only thing that would have captured what the soldiers were doing in the dark. In fact they would have been even more efficient than your average cctv, because of their infrared technology that would have detected faces at night.
Because Sanwo-Olu & one company did damage control, you are suddenly confused.

“Oh it’s just a license plate camera” “No big deal”! “Oh they just happen to turn off the billboard to comply with curfew.”

Makes sense. You turn off billboards, jam phone lines to abide by curfew.
So just to inform some of you that are so desperate to disbelieve your own eyes. An infrared camera to detect license plates is just a regular camera but with even BETTER resolution. They are often used by businesses to monitor trespassers.

The Stockholm syndrome is real.
The irony is Sanwo-Olu indicted himself. The company initially came out to lie & deny any cameras were removed, but Sanwo-Olu confirmed they were removed but were only for license plate detection. Temporarily confusing the public, but unknowingly confirming damning allegations.
